General Secretary of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai is delighted with the trip to the village of Stepantsminda, Kazbegi district of Georgia.
Taleb Rifai visited the most popular tourist sight at the foot of Mount Kazbek with the head of the tourism Department of France Michel Duryu, the minister of the Georgian National Tourism Administration Georgy Chogovadze and the Georgian Ambassador to Spain Zurab Pololikashvili.
Guests inspected a Trinity Church of Gergeti, located at an altitude of 2,170 meters, and also visited the "Rooms" hotel, which opens a picturesque view of the Kazbek mountain.
Taleb Rifai was so delighted with nature that he promised to bring a million tourists to Georgia next time.
"I would like to have the whole world together with me to share these wonderful experiences. In the future, I will try to come to Georgia and bring another million people, "Rifai said.
He admitted that he received huge impressions from his trip to Georgia. According to him, this is a country with a wonderful nature, amazing mountains, delicious dishes, fine wine and a beautiful people. The head of the UN tourism organization stressed that Georgia has a huge tourist potential.
Taleb Rifai arrived in Georgia to participate in the international conference of mountain resorts in Europe and Asia. The Georgian authorities awarded the UNWTO Secretary General the "Order of Honor" for their contribution to the development of tourism.
